A shared studio,
two ways of working with clay.

Jolene & Andrew Carson, working side by side in a shared Melbourne studio. Hand-sculpted keepsakes and wheel-thrown pottery.

Hand-sculpted ceramic blue-ringed octopus on a small ceramic dish

Jolene Carson

Hand-sculpted ceramics painted in bright underglazes. Magnets, brooches, ornaments, and tiny keepsakes, each one shaped and painted by hand to bring a little colour and joy into everyday life.

Two wheel-thrown stoneware mugs with vertical fork-cut texture and white glaze pooling

Andrew Carson

Functional pottery thrown almost exclusively in dark stoneware: mugs, teapots, bowls and vases for daily use. Drawn to surfaces that show the marks of their making: thumb ridges, fork-cut texture, white glaze pooling in the recesses.
